SPIRITS OF ORIGAMI is the first book of the Japanese Origami Artist GEN HAGIWARA.

You probably already have folded its models, some of which are available in Tanteidan Magazine, Tanteidan Conventions, or the latest "Beauty of Origami".

This book project started already several years ago when I am excited to fold his flying squirrel from Tanteidan 15, then his other squirrel from Tanteidan 16.

At the time, I was beginning to get tired of hyper super complex model that need six hours to fold it and so these two models have immediately caught my attention. They combined innovative and pleasant folding sequences for a great result. Among all models published in the both Tanteidan, his models became clearly my favorites. Then over the years, I rushed to fold any new Gen's model as soon as one appear somewhere (Kangaroo, Kingfisher, giraffe, violin etc ...). So the idea of a book with him had appeared to me as an evidence.

It took me a long time to find the right people to be able to be in contact with Gen and build this book's project together. His coming to my house a few months ago helped consolidate our friendship and work out the final details of the book.

Today we are pleased to fix the last details of this book, wich will be released late November 2015.

This is great news! Hajiwara is a fantastic designer whose folding sequences remind me of Komatsu's. Even if it's just an anthology I'll be getting this but I hope there is a decent range of yet unpublished designed.

We will publish photos of each model step by step until the date of publication.
First model in the list, and oldest model of GEN: his Kangaroo

If "Spirits of Origami" is coming November this year will "Drawing Origami Tome 2" be delayed or is it also coming this year? DOT2 is still listed for a Christmas 2015 release
http://www.origami-shop.com/en/drawing- ... -3348.html
Just wondering.

"Drawing Origami Tome 2" will be indeed delayed to June 2016. I'm going to change the date on the shop.

The book include of course unpublished diagrams but we can't miss some of his incredible models, even if already published somewhere. In this case, the folding sequence has been improved and updated.

Love the chipmunk!

These models are all really nice. They remind me a lot of Komatu's models.
