Is something wrong with sasuga.com?

Hi, I posted an order for some expensive origami books (tanteidan 10 and origami insects 2 to be exact). However nothing has come for 10 days, when I checked the site it said my order was "pending". When I tried to contact the site, my email was returned back to me

! Does anyone know what has happened to the site? If it has shut down I would like my books or a refund.

As far as I can tell.
http://www.sasugabooks.com is still active and reachable.

When I ordered something from Sasuga, I also must wait for a long time, also contacted Karen (without replay) and then my credit card was a low limit for one transfer...

I'm very sad to report that Karen Yahara, one of the co-owners of
Sasuga Japanese Bookstore, passed away unexpectedly recently.
Karen was a great supporter of the origami community and a good
friend, and will be sorely missed.
I'm sure her family would appreciate any kind words you'd care to
send - the address is on the store website,
http://www.sasugabooks.com .

I don't think so. But it certainly does explain why things are a bit slow right now.

they also seem to be away a lot. i live a town over from their storefront, which is only open on saturdays. the last couple times i've tried to go over there, they've been out of town. there's a sign on the door that tells the weeks they'll be out. though i never really look at it and plan ahead. i dunno about whether they are around or not during the week.

now THATS really sad. a human passed away and the first thing asked was, if the store will be closed...
I didn't know her, but I'm sure, she was a nice person.

Perhaps but life goes on.
We remember people by the things they leave behind be they memories or more tangible objects such as stores, it would be a shame is Sasanuga closed as a result of her death since the store was part of who she was... I remember completing my first Samurai sticker card with them =)
If people have outstanding transactions with the company and there are no channels of communication open I can understand them being concerned, and as pointed out the commodities involved are hardly cheap by any stretch of the imagaination.
Anyhow this may not be the thread to say this but if the problems continue I would like to recommend OUSA who were able to send me a lot of books (including Insects II, Origami Design Secrets and Satoshi Kamiya) within a week during the run upto Christmas and notably to the UK.
