I am going to buy some chiyogami and washi, and I would like to know how you take care of it and protect it. I move a lot, and I do a lot of origami, so, I would like to know what are some good ways to carry it and so. Any and all answers are appreciated.

Being that the size and number, I'd probably place it between two hard boards of 13 x 13 in of something like plywood or acrylic and tie everything together very tightly.

Hope that helps :).

Long ago we got a set of map drawers. Nothing, but nothing is better for storing paper.

Actually I build such a cupboard myself for storing large sheets of paper. But I think this very efficient solution will not help the original poster as these kind of furnitures are usually not very mobile ;)

But what about rolling the paper around a large tube of cardboard and then wrap it again with a protection sheet of paper? If the diameter is big enough, it shouldn't warp the paper too much.

I'm kinda weird, in that I have 10+ year old copies of the easy origami calendar, and keep my origami paper in the boxes.

i use shoe boxes. they are neat, stackable and easy to hide away in your cupboard or whatnot. also scan less important documents onto your computer then dispose of the physical copies. hope this helps

I usually just store it flat in some big drawers. I try to keep it organized so I know what I've got without having to search through every piece! It's kinda like an origami filing system.

I use acid-free materials such as archival folders, acid-free tissue paper, or acid-free plastic sleeves to prevent form causing yellowing and deterioration over time. You can store them in closed containers, display cases, or sealable plastic bags to prevent dust accumulation and protect them from potential pest damage. One important thing is to Avoid direct sunlight because prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can fade the vibrant colors of chiyogami and washi.
