Rapi-Gami: The origami improvisation game!

Post by ~folder~of~paper~ »

Ok, This may seem a bit odd, but I'v just devised a game called Rapi-Gami... It's pictionary with an origami twist. I don't really have anyone to play it with but you can feel free to play it with other origamists. If you think it's and idea worth stealing, just remember that I devised it...

You need 3 people of reasonably even origami skill
Loads of squares cut from A4 copy-paper
An egg-timer or stop-watch
Cards with objects written on them

1. Decide who will fold first and who will guess.
2. One person takes a card and has 3 minutes to fold what is on it (not using a model from a text-book or one previously known!) while the others guess what it is.
3. At the end of 3 minutes, If the itemhas not been guessed, do another. Otherwise, who ever guessed correctly, gets a point.
4. You can swap over, or play first to 5 or so. If you have larger groups, race to see whos group guesses their groups item first.
5. HAVE FUN! :)

Locally there are some chocolate bars that come with a little picture for you to stick on an album. It is common to play Chocogami, you open your chocolate bar (each player gets one for him/her self) and you have to fold whatever is in the picture. I played a few times and lost to Jeremy Shaffer who was attending a convention I went to.

Do you have to give up your chocolate bar when you lose? Because that would be very, very cruel....
So long and keep folding ^_^

It's not surprizing you lost to Jeremy, seriously! Have you seen what he's designed?! Remember you versed a guy who folded an origami walking bathtub from scratch! But I reckon It'd be an honour to verse him!
Chocogami sounds fun! Especially because of the choco- part! :D

That sounds lot like that game (which I can't remember the name of) where you get a card and draw a picture and get people to guess what it is...
