Yes! I enjoy making origami quilts. (My wife is a quilter!)

There are a few places where flat quilt units can be found (e.g. two books by Tomoko Fuse), but it is an ambition to create a set of units (squares, triangles etc.) that could interlock and provide a basiis for making representative quilts by scanning the fabric patterns, printing them and folding the units. A good place to start for this would be Origami Omnibus by Kunihiko Kasahara!

Kusudama is another origami interest.
I think some of the Kusudama units could be modified for a (3-D) quilt effect.
Again, Fuse is a source. Lew Rozelle is another.

Hi,

quilting with the Fabric Origami Quilt Block. This log cabin quilt tutorial makes an 11 inch quilt block and involves using fabric folding to create the origami effect. You will mainly need squares and rectangles to make this quilt pattern, which makes it pretty easy.
I have even seen some bedding quilts with triangles designs on them made from fabric in Australia
