Just to let everyone know, I am underway with several projects:
Here is a not so subtle hint of one of the projects:
look for this and others in about two weeks?

This stuff is really cool. I am always amazed by moving origami; the design of it is so much different than everything else. I am personally not a big fan of modulars in general (they are generally all rigid and mathematical)-I would like to see some of these from 1 sheet

I needed a ball that would roll well and decded after making it to use it to do the "Spinning Globe" of this challenge.
As always - no glue - folded rectangles only - many - many parts. Yes, the red stick is just a rolled rectangle held together with three of my slips.
This model meets multiple model criteria for object proposed in this challenge. First, it is a movable bridge. Second, It is a unit that can be linked in the Chain Reaction Models.
I have also decied to use this and some other new models in an on-going project, I have named:
A Chicago Celebration
This chain reaction project will link together moving models inspired by the Art and Industry of Chicago.
For more information check my web stie. For Now, here is the new model:
The model is inspired by the many moving bridges that span the Chicago River designed to allow sail boats to procede to Lake Michigan.
The working model is viewable on YouTube:

What happened to Tjips? About a year ago he said he was going to make his construction system freely available, but as far as I can tell he disappeared..

I think it was suggested that we make a doll house for this challenge (either Anna or Gerwin?). Well it only took me ten years or so but here it is.
NOTE: This is a slightly different construction method I call "Linked-ON-Beams" (play on Lincoln-Logs).
There are basically 4 important parts
1) a Beam (could be either a "slip and Stick - STICK or simply a Rectangular prism folded by many different methods
2) A corner Link that brings together three beams at one corner
3) A "T-Link" that connects the end of one beam to any given mid-point in a second beam. Add more "T-Links at the same point for meeting 2, 3 or 4 beams at the same mid-point in the initial beam.
4) A Panel that forms walls. The panel can be decorated with "Wall Paper" or "Siding" which can be a single layer rectangle with very simple tabs to connect to the panel. In the doll house I used tessellations in my roof and siding to give the outside some texture.

Cool.
Better late than never. Now you only need to include the elevator and make it three floors high.

Another thought for you, and this would be truly unique. An all paper (except the rubber band) flying rubber band aircraft. I think with your system yo could really do it, though the propellor hub might get interesting. Should able to fly better than a hand-thrown airplane.
Maybe we could do a little contest where you bring the rubber band aircraft and I bring one of my hand thrown ones. See who's flies the longest/greatest duration. Got a fast (real) airplane, so getting out there is no big deal.
