Is there anything practical or decorative that you carry on you or wear everyday? I'm planning when I have to wear a suit, I'll make the wearable tie by Juan Pedro Rubio, and decorate that in my own fashion. But at the moment I only carry a small noisemaker (I enjoy startling people).

What about you?

Well, for my senior prom I wore origami cufflinks made out of dollar bills:



And I've always wanted to design/use an origami wallet, but I don't think I have strong enough paper...

Those are amazing and classy. It's a shame, is there a way to convert dollar bill folds for British sterling notes?

It should work as long as there isn't any inherent symmetry or patterns needed that are specific to American money. My cufflinks, like most dollar-bill models, do not rely on some specific proportions for the paper, so they should work with just about any paper money.

I drew up a simple CP for the rose cufflinks:


To fold them, first get the reference lines-the part on the left is a square and the rest is based on an 8ths grid.

Collapse the part on the right first-you can think of it as a rabbit ear sunken thinner for the main structure.

The remaining square is used for the rose-it is a basic Kawasaki-style twist rose, but the catch is that you have to deal with the cuff attachment, too. You can just fold through all of the layers that overlap the rose and it works out OK.

Note that you can also use the square to make more than just a rose-I have made crane and waterbomb cufflinks, too, but there are plenty of other possibilities.
