I have managed to get my greedy little fingers at some huges foiled back paper (50 x 70 cm - the type that is white paper on one side and gold or silver at the other).

But I prefer folding with the white side outside. Whenever I use the foil-side as the colored side the paper always starts to become ugly. The gold turns silver where there is a lot of creasing and the silver shows the paper side through.

Does anyone know what would be the best way to handle foil???

Well, the purpose of using foiled back paper is to make it easier to fold and add additionall details and shaping to the model so that it looks realistic, and not to add color to the model.

That is a nice-sized sheet of foil paper-good work for actually finding it that big! I would recommend folding with the white side out-that way the light doesn't reflect off of every single surface, making the model look sloppy. You can also color the white side if you want to (although it does make the paper a little thicker-funny how that works). Yeah, I always fold with the white on the outside. The foil side tends to develop all sorts of ugly creases, and "scarring" (where the foil has basically flaked off). Even if folded perfectly clean, the foil will typically produce a terrible reflection when photographed.

At a Japanese store in Amsterdam... It's great stuff...

More than willing to trade, because I cannot get other papers like momogami or the LaFosse paper (insect paper)

may i ask where is this store in Amsterdam ?
i used to make foiled paper (tissue+alu-foil),then later i am too lazy to make them....so i just bought some foil colour papers from Passion Origami,these colour foil papers are not bad at all
