new rose (Kawasaki) inspired

Post by drewgo »

Hello, I have made almost every Kawasaki roses that I found over the internet but like everything new it becomes old and I’m in the find of a new challenge, so I’m trying to create a new rose. In the original and every other variations of the rose, there are 4 petals in a spiral so now for me the challenge is to increase the number, increasing it to 6 for the moment, thus creating a hexagonal shape in the center instead of a square. All went fine until I had to close the rose (I’m sorry if I’m not writing in origami terms, until this point I never had to use them), so for one week I’m in the search for a solution. I hope someone here experimented on this variation of the rose and can give me an advice. I’ll try and make a crease pattern and show you what I’m working on. Hope to find an answer. Thanks

Search this Forum, we had some different topics about three, five and six petalled Kawasaki-Roses, there where also instructions. Oh well and Oschene from the FitFulFlog (spelling?) has a version from a circle with round creases.

i did search and the thing is that christian's Irgendeine Blume is not what i had in mind, the rose is to wide for my taste, i would like a more compact rose, and i have a difficult time closing it so that it keeps it's cylindrical shape. i'm using two patterns, christian's and one from a square sheet

Actually I haven't said a word about Christians flower in my previous posts but spoke about Kawasaki rose variations and I know that there are some topics, I'm just too lazy at the moment to search them, maybe someone else does.

christian's rose diagram is presented in the topic about 5 and 6 petal rose, and in my opinion is a variation on the Kawasaki rose, i'm not a expert in origami but to me it seems that way, what i'm looking for is a solution for the closure, so i gave a explanation on the subject, pointing out what i don't need, even doe it's a beautiful origami rose. i'll try and try solving it myself and hope that in the meanwhile someone else found themselves in the same situation. if i do it right and someone wants to know how i managed to do it i'll be happy to point the directions. till then it's one step that i can't get by
