can anyone help me disign a malboro or a moogle? I tryied and I can't do it.
I asked kamiya satoshi but he hasn't emailed me back a reply.

Hey, you should probably just consolidate everything into one thread - but anyway:

For the malboro I would consider trying to use a sea urchin model, using some flaps for the face and legs, with the rest going to the.. umm.. utterly useless flappy things all around its body. ( I always thought a Malboro was a cross between a midget Medusa and a poisonous tangela )

As for the moogle, it depends. There are different versions of moogles throughout the Final Fantasy series. Some are catlike (FF12) and some are mog-like (FF7).

thanks for the reply for the moogle im talking about the one in ffx the one with slit eyes and a big red nose and purple wings. the one with the whitish tan body.

Well, as I have very little experience with designs, I can't help you very much. My best guess would be to use boxpleating, and if you want to make it 3D you could expand pleats into a box shape (like the belly of Terry's frog).

You could maybe use some Joisel-esque waterbomb patterns (like on some of his dwarves) for the body.

Again Final Fantasy character? Could you please play something else? For example Transport Tycoon DeLuxe or The Sims?

Yes!!!!!!!! I finally got a reply from Kamiya Satoshi!
unfortunately he doesn't have the model anymore so he can't diagram it or make a cp.

That's unfortunate... I liked that model as well. I just hope that he kept some of his other Final Fantasy models, like the Odin one.

It kind of reminds me of garg on Commander Keen but he has less eye-squiggly things.

I believe that Malboros are indeed a reference to the cigarette mark of the same name. As proof, their trademark attack in any of the Final Fantasy games is called «bad breath» and causes all kinds of bad status effects such as poison or confusion. It's pretty ironic when you think about it.

Well, Malboro is the name of the monster.
MaRlboro is the name of the cigarrete brand.

Then again, if you translate an 'rl' sounds into Japanaese, I guess you'd just use one sound to represent both.

Either the English translators didn't really think there was a connection or there was but Marlboro didn't allow them use to their name, hah.

Good call on the 'bad breath' connection though. But I'm not gonna call it proof .
