I am new to this forum but am quite experienced at Origami, I have been doing it for as long as I can remember. I have recently started designing my own models a lot more than I used to, and am now out of ideas. Anything will do, be creative and I will get back to you on the results.
PS - Yes the first thing I designed was a Platypus.

The world needs more Platypi.

What about origami tasmanian tigers and wombats and drop bears?

Actually, although it sounds cool that way, it isn't. It's just platypuses.
Kind of like how the plural of octopus is not octopi.

From dictionary.com: you're right about
platypus, but not about
octopus.

Also, Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octopus#Plural
Basically, pluralizing
us to
i is for Latin words, but there are similar words that are Greek in origin, like octopus and hippopotamus, that do not have the us -> i pluralization. While *accepted*, "octopi" is really an incorrect pluralization, the correct one being octopodes.

i saw a picture once in one of my origami books and it was of a colt. long gangly legs, short body, the works, but there are no diagrams in the book. i would really love to see a colt done in origami. (smiles) dani

First you need to upload the picture somewhere. A good place to do so is
ImageShack, it´s free and self-explanatory. After you´ve done, you will get some links that you can easy copy and paste onto your post.

hi
ive got an idea of a model to fold, too.
you all know the scenes on old historical pictures where a warrior on a horse beats a dragon(lying on the ground).
the "challenge"

would be to fold the whole scene out of one sheet of paper. it would be a hard work, i think.
(i´m not serious, you know?)
...the sword or weapon, which is the connection of the dragon and the warrior would become a little bit thick.
but i havent tried it yet.
well, i will better search some more possible ideas the next time...
