The whale obviously wins.
The sun shall shine on his sparkles thus blinding the ostrich, leaving his laserbeam useless. The ostrich blinded and enraged shall shoot lasers in all directions, and one of those lasers shall bounce of the whale thus burning the ostrich's own batlike wings, leaving the creature helplessy struggling on the ground.

Ostrich is struggling on ground. Then gets eaten.

The ostrich wears sunglasses, he needs them to keep down the glare from the glass formed behind him when he runs in the sand. Since the whale wouldn't be able to blind him,the ostrich would be able to control his beams, preventing his crippling.
