My native language is Spanish but I can understand, write and talk very well English (I learned a lot of English with this forum, games, songs, and more things that are in english). Also I can understand (not so well) Portuguese and Italian (they are very similar to Spanish), besides I have Italian descent (my last name is Antonucci).

I would've taken German or French, but my parents insisted on me taking Latin. They said it would help with SATs or something.

I'm from a bilingual home myself. My dad is English and my mom's Polish. It's funny how we often don't even realise when we switch from one to another(dad is fluent in Polish :) ). The way we think about languages is kinda obsolete, I think. Languages are just a way of expressing yourself. We all want to convey what we really mean as best as we can. Sometimes even my rudimentary Japanese helps me with that :)

I really don't like the entire notion of having a mother tongue. Every language is a tool and sometimes it's really hard to say which of the tools you're most comfortable with. They all have their own utility.

I speak English, some Latin, some Italian, and am fluent in 2 languages based of English (I think they are called Urugoo and Allibri). According to some people music is a language so that too (don't know if that counts).

Do programming languages count (e.g javascript, html)? If so then some javascript and html and a good amount of Visual basic.
