I folded Attack of the Kraken, by Brian Chan! From a 50cm square of stained double tissue, to get the squid a different color than the boat. Quite tricky getting those sails to twist and hull to come together.

I made a CP for the longhorn beetle Dorysthenes walkeri, but sadly I don't have a big enough paper to fold this 50-grid work :(

Another tessellation and I think I can say I invented this one!!! :D

Image

Only a scrap bit of paper I'm afraid so I didn't have room to repeat it, I'll redo it soon.

Here's the repeated version of my tessellation! I'm quite proud that I actually invented something (I think).
I must admit I still didn't do the best job of folding it, I'm fairly new to tessellations and it was the first time I repeated it so I was kinda making it up/learning about the design as I was folding but I like it :D

If anyone has any ideas of how to improve it then I would love to hear them! Also sorry for posting in this thread so much but you won't get much for a while as I'm gonna attempt a Joel Cooper mask.... foolish I know.

I recently ordered The heartful paper folding ORIGAMI folding images of Buddha of your own by Kawai Atsuko. I love the style of the folds, and I have tried some myself.

Stone statue of Jizo wearing a shade : http://skyraft.files.wordpress.com/2012 ... mi-001.jpg

Seated figure of Kannon: http://skyraft.files.wordpress.com/2012 ... mi-009.jpg

Buddha of Nirvana: http://skyraft.files.wordpress.com/2012 ... mi-013.jpg

Monk chanting a sutra: http://skyraft.files.wordpress.com/2012 ... mi-016.jpg

They all need some work (particularly on the eye folds) but I'll get on that.. I am really happy with the Jizo statues though.

I love the tesselation! Very clever! Kareshi and ancella, you could enter those into the olympic challenge i started- it hasn't had any entries and those are brilliant!
