ODT#2-Round 2-wilsonorigami vs. Crease

Post by wilsonorigami »

Here are the three topics I came up with:

1. Household objects
2. Curved folds
3. Reptiles

I'll have to go for curved folds - do you have any rules?

I was just thinking the usual "one sheet, no cuts". As for the curved folds, at least one fold must truly lie along a curve, and not merely be bent by dry tension. Other than that, feel free to take this in whatever direction you want.

Here are my entries:
First, a parabolic tessellation unit - I fancied doing a curve that wasn't a circle!

Second, here is my circular flower:

Third, here is a dome I designed:

Finally, here is my design of concentric circles:

Nothing particularly difficult in any of my designs but I fancied exploring different ways of creating curves so I have done just that! :)
More images on my flickr (see below) :)
Good luck!

I was originally going to do something geometric, but I decided against it. Instead, I took a curved fold and designed something representational around it:

My entry is a Moai, i.e. an Easter Island head:

The brow ridge and the bridge of the nose are parabolic in shape, which holds the forehead in a curved shape.

I don't have any more submissions. Are you ready for me to set up the poll?

Sorry for the late reply - I've had no internet for a couple of days!
Glad to see you have started the poll. Good luck :D
