Re: ODT #2
Sorry I took so long to reply on this thread. I am calibrating the bracket and should get it started by tomorrow.

The second origami duel tournament will begin its first round on February 1. The round will last twenty days then the poll will run for one week. The duelist on top is considered the challenger and presents three topics, with the duelist on the bottom choosing a topic. Six duelists received a bye this round- you'll get some action next round. Thanks everyone for joining and good luck!

You sure the bracket isn't biased? I couldn't help but notice you gave yourself the bye.

Re: ODT #2
oh woe is me, Argonaut got a bye in the first round! He is sure to win now and take all the fame and fortune for winning this friendly community driven tournament! And all of his friends are scheming as well, that is why the others got a bye in the places they did, he is surely stealing the spoils of the potential victor. I'm sorry but your comment is just that ridiculous.
Please, add me on flickr and tell me what you think!

Re: ODT #2
The beauty of the bracket system is that Argonaut can shove himself to second place and we'll technically come out with the same winner.
So no bias here. And I think it is actually LESS bias for Argonaut to have put himself as the bye so he would not have any bias as to what person he would be against.
Anyways we should be thankful that we have a great poster like Argonaut to organize a tournament like this.
Kudos to you, Argonaut!
And now to wait for my bracket-buddy to post...

Quite. Also, had it been me, I would have been tempted to put myself in the first round rather than the bye, so as potentially to have the chance to be involved in more rounds, and to get going straight away. So I really don't think we need to worry about bias.Razzmatazz wrote:And I think it is actually LESS bias for Argonaut to have put himself as the bye so he would not have any bias as to what person he would be against.

Re: ODT #2
All placements in the brackets were random, so no, I did not intentionally give myself the bye. However, if you would like, I will switch positions in the bracket with you and let you take the bye. It really doesn't matter that much to me.Baltorigamist wrote:You sure the bracket isn't biased? I couldn't help but notice you gave yourself the bye.
Ps- thanks for all the compliments.

Re: ODT #2
Let's say you make a lousy model and a very beautiful model and put them both as entries to the challenge.Argonaut wrote: All of your entries are taken into consideration.
Is it
Good + bad = medium
or
Good + bad = Good +
I'm just wondering if posting several models has any possible negative effects.
