i gues that the winner will be jared or joshua!
but i feel that this competition is not about who wins, but just for the fun of designing............hey, is there a 22.5 challenge?

I don't believe there has been a challenge for 22.5 degree angles. That's a nice idea for a topic for one, though.

Thanks for saying that, Razzmatazz. It'd be nice to be first, or even in the top 3.

Stork with baby

Post by fjank »

Here is my contribution to july's contest. I am not completely happy with the final result, the tip of the beak is a bit to long, and the base of the beak is to short, and the wings are a bit to short, but It'll do for now. Maybe I'll do another version later, and maybe shape a baby head and a couble of feet. for now the baby is hidden in the cradle. The paper is 120g copy paper, si It was rather difficult the thin the beak abd cradle even more as I wanted to.

I have not diagrammed it, I based the design on a 22.5 diagram with 6 flaps, created by treemaker, then justified it to use 15 degree angles instead.
the beak, cradle and the wings are edge flaps, the tail a middle flap, while the feet are a split corner flap.

Awww... that's cute! The only problem is that the bag doesn't really looklike it's being held in the beak, but sort of hanging off the side. Other than that' though, it's fantastic!

True, true. I am working an another version, (no 15 degree angles, so not eligible for competition), where I have not done the mistake of doing the bag and the beak asymetric. But now it looks like its dangling from the bottom of the beak. I'll guess I have to make two small flaps and make them extend the bag, to simulate a knot. Back to the drawing board!
Other than that' though, it's fantastic!

Thanksalot!
