My humble entry this month will be a life- size cowboy hat, from preliminary fold, out of "newspaper foil" (my own creation).

Could you maybe post diagrams or a crease pattern for the yak?
Thank you! :) The yak is pretty simple, so I'm sure I could make some workable diagrams for it. Though I've got little to no experience with diagramming... Still, you have to start somewhere!

EDIT: I made some quick-and-dirty photo diagrams, you can find them here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gaberosiak/6301296592/

the judge is usually the last months' winner - this time with "Ray95". he's going to start the new challenge, too, and - curious as i am - i hope, he'll do it soon.
if you're going to visit my little flickr_gallery, please leave a comment - a critical one is welcome, too, if necessary: http://www.flickr.com/photos/57625237@N02/

I made it using elmer's glue. I honestly don't know what mc is. I was impressed with how it folds, and it was perfect for the model because plain tissue foil would have been too thin and would have crumpled. I'm considering painting it to make it look more formal, though.

For this challenge, the challenge was not to participate but to judge...

So many great entries ! You are all the champions !

I tried to remove the entries that did not respect the rules and gave preference to simple models that I liked.

2. You may not unfold any part of the starting base.
3. No, grafting paper on a traditional base in any way is not allowed.
4. Neither is offsetting bases.
5. Precreasing before folding the base is not allowed either.
6. As for blintzed bases, I prefer you not use them. I do not accept starting out with the traditional blintz base, with the four corners folded in, since that defeats the purpose of the challenge (ex. making a blintzed bird base or blintzed frog base to get more points by starting from a blintz base).

in 3rd place ex-aequo :

anemark - Jack-o'-lantern

in 2nd place : Razzmatazz - Snails

And in 1st place... gab with a Yak

Gab will be the judge for the challenge of November.

Well done Gab, I quite like the yak - you should fold it again with a sort of furry paper !

Ray, it would be nice to read a bit more about what led you to your choices, specially given that it took you some time to think it through, obviously. For example: what do you like about each of the particular models you chose that makes them stand out to you ?
