This is the 3rd time I've designed a model days before it became a competition theme!!
So this is not valid for judging, but I'm going to leave it here just for fun. Maybe I'll think of something else later.

I started a one-off olympic challenge. It hasn't had any entries. I suppose this one gets priority.

as I have the great honor of being this month's judge, this is not in the competition but just for fun something I came up with during a bus ride the day before yesterday

the model is so simple that I wouldn't be surprised if it had already been invented...

According to the regular rules there are 0 entries.
But if there are no objections I am going to consider kareshi's entry as eligible (even though it was designed a few days too early)...

Come on guys and gals, submit your designs! Given that there are only so few entries till know, your odds of winning are extremely good 8)
And as an added bonus you can participate in Harpseal's Olympic Challenge at the same time.

Can i take part in this one too? I can't do my own, but i may be able to turn my prototype mandeville into a nice model before the end of august.

Origami Gunner
Designed using assymetric boxpleating
I thought of a gunner as shooting has been the most succesful sport for india in this olympics :)

Whew, almost didn't make it. I had totally forgotten about the challenge this month until very recently and had to design, fold and photograph this guy in two days (a Herculean feat for me). Here's my model of Wenlock doing the lightning pose, which could easily be modified into Mandeville... doing whatever.
