I was asked by a friend in the Spanish forum to translate this and post it here. You can find the original post here: http://www.pajarita.biz/modules.php?nam ... 7254#37254

1. The models must be original creations not previously submitted to other competitions.

2. The deadline for submission of the model will be the last day of February 2013

3. We propose any of these models:

a. Figure: The Photographer's Horse in Zaragoza. Located near the Plaza del Pilar, it's a sculpture where children used to be portrayed for years in Zaragoza. A typical Zaragozan figure for the most expert creators.

b. Tessellation: Create a mudejar style tessellation. Just as the Alhambra inspired Gerdje, we want the Aragonese Mudejar art to inspire tesellators. http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muro_de_la ... _de_la_Seo

c. Figure: Augustus' frog. They accompany Augustus' statue. They're the same frogs as the ones from the game, with their mouth open.

d. Baturra Jewelry: Create a set of jewelery consisting of baturra earrings and a brooch. I'm sharing some pictures to serve as a reference. They are usually very large and intricate filigree pendants.

4. If there aren't enough models when voting, the jury composed of AEP folders may declare any part of the challenge deserted.

5. The winners will be announced during the 2013 Zaragozan Convention.

6. You can send the folded model by mail to the convention. But if you can't send the folded model to the convention, we ask you to send the CP or diagrams by email (see bellow) so a convention helper can fold the model, or at least to present quality photos for presenting to the public.

7. The prizes consist of origami books yet to be selected.

You can post photos of the models in the thread: http://www.pajarita.biz/modules.php?nam ... 7254#37254 or send them to librotrece(at)yahoo.com And if you choose to publish the CP or diagrams of your model, you can also send them to the same email address.

The contest has four categories: frog, horsey, tessellation and jewels. Each one is an independent contest. There's a prize for each one.

Each winner can choose one of the following two options as his or her prize:

-Subscription for one year to the Spanish Paper Folding Association AEP. This means: receiving the magazine, access to the AEP store, discounts on events. For those who are already members, you wouldn't have to pay for one whole year of subscription.

-Bernie Peyton's new book "Ecorigami", with the author's autograph.

I think they are fantastic prizes!

Go for it ;)

Was that what you wanted to know?

If I design a frog for the compition does it have to look like the frog in the picture or can it look like any frog? I'm guessing it has to look like te one in the picture but I want to make sure :)

YES, it's supposed to represent the frog in the photograph, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the extremely detailed model will be the one that wins. Ok?
