You probably never have heard of it, as it was so long forgotten. But, after a period of rejuvenating sleep, IT is back and is brought back to life thanks to Origami !
We named the Glyptodon from Pleistocene ! (or “Ugly Frodon” as J. R. R.’s fans call him)
As you already know

Whereas dinosaurs have inspired so many folders, the Pleistocene fauna has produced far less paper avatars.
We want to fix this injustice, and you can help by entering the Glyptodon challenge !
You may enter two categories (either one or both) :
The Glyptodon : An original creation of a Glyptodon model, either as skeleton as presented in the Museum's collections or as the reconstituted animal the palaeontologists have produced.
The Glyptodon Epoch : An interpretation of a Glyptodon model or creation, or an interpretation of a model related to the Pleistocene fauna : there were mammoths, saber-toothed cats, woolly rhinos, giants sloths, cave bears etc…
You may resort to any technique; diagrams, CP or photo-diagram will be much appreciated (and published).
In order to enter the competition, models must be exhibited in Dijon during the Rencontres de Mai.
Prizes will be attributed on Sat. May 11th, the main one beeing : world-wide respect and your work published.
In the event you cannot come to Dijon in person, please send your works with the entry form by post to the address mentionned on the website.
Folded pieces must be received at this address before May 3rd, 2013 at the latest.
The Francophone Origami Forum is also launching its monthly creation challenge on this theme.
You may take part in one, the other, or both.
Do not hesitate and let your imagination surf the waves of paleontology.
