Welcome to challenge number 3 of 2015!

The theme for this month is THE DEEP

fold anything that lives in the deep sea! (angler fish, giant squid, oarfish, dumbo octopus, goblin shark)
The deep sea is home to many creatures, both whimsical and frightening, and this month we're going to pay tribute to them

You are welcome to fold characters from books, TV, video games, etc. as long as they are based off abyssal animals. Human divers would be great!

One sheet, no cuts, no glue. background pieces are excepted from these rules.

Good luck, and happy folding!

My first of a few planned submissions.

A new tessellation (I think):

I thought that would be an appropriate title because, at first glance, this tessellation appears to be completely random, just like ocean waves and currents. But there's an underlying pattern that can only be seen through careful observation.

...And a squat lobster:

A little question, but do seahorses live in the deep? I think I have a seahorse up my sleeve but not quite sure if it lives in THE DEEP.

Seahorses don't live very far down, at least not to the abyssal level kirakinn referenced.

Okay. Well, I'll come up with something else.

Two strong entries from Baltorigamist this month, they would have been hard to beat. Perhaps you scared off the competition
I'll pick the excellent squat lobster for the win, only because your intriguing waves tessellation puts me in the mind of the rolling ocean surface rather than the deep.

Baltorigamist will be April's judge and pick the theme for May
