Monthly Folding Challenge - March 2007
Posted: February 25th, 2007, 10:10 pm
Here's an idea for a new type of thread. We have many innovative folders and designers on this forum, who specialise in different techniques and levels of complexity. I thought it would be fun to introduce a monthly challenge. I humbly nominate myself as judge for at least the first month. And as far as prizes go, I can offer little more than my respect, and the pride of being, unofficially, the best folder on this forum
And so, the rules:
Rules (for March 2007)
-Squares only
-Any origami technique which does not involve cutting the square is allowed
-Modular models are fine
-Glue is allowed to support tuck-folds or natural pockets only
-No painting colours on afterwards, although varnishing, glossing etc is allowed
-You can post as many photos of a model as you like, but they must not be digitally manipulated, other than cropping.
-You can enter as many different models as you like.
-It can be your own design or someone elses design.
-Please enter the name of the folder and the designer for each model.
-I'll choose the winners of first, second and third prize on March 31st. I'll be disqualified if I enter myself
-I'll also come up with a new topic for April 2007 - PM me if you come up with a good one!
The Challenge
Fold a human skull. It can be realistic or stylistic. It can be single piece or multi-piece (there are 23 bones in the average human skull). It should be a skull only (although a skull and crossbones would probably be allowed). It should be human. It can be of any age.
Jolly good luck! Please keep this thread for entries - if you wish to comment on the challenge, or the concept of the challenge, please use this thread :
