As for august's subject, I call it : Transformers Unleashed! Basically, you can do anything you like, be it simple or complex, for as long as that model can transform into something else (which would require at least two pictures for each entries.) It would also be preferable if the two forms were related to each other and if the tranforming step didn't require to unfold a big portion of the model. Since there is only two models I can think of for references (Valerie Vann's Rose Cube and the VF1), this could become an interesting challenge. I just hope that my idea isn't too complicated...

So, to summarise,
Any shape of paper
Any number of sheets
Must turn from one form into another
Must be better than the lousy Transformers movie (please discuss in 'Discussions thread')
Can use glue or cutting, but both are frowned against.

Post your photo, with the name of the designer, who folded it, number of sheets (and shape of sheets) and what both forms are.

For example, you could have an egg that turns into a chicken, a cube that turns into a rose, a truck that turns into a robot, etc.

Cupcake is the judge! Sunburst and Cupcake are barred from winning, but can enter if they like.

This nifty little model transforms from a round box or table to a Rocker, Bench or Bridge in one fold.
What you call it depends on how you look at it. As a rocker it truely rocks!

This is a tripple changer! Yep he's a decepticon. If you remembered G1- this guy will surely strike you out! Its a jet plane, that transforms into a battle tank, and into the robot himself. Medium used: Half A4 with no cutting or gluing. Folded from pre-designed sheet.

I got a lot more of origami transformer robots. I just need to find them in my box. And by the way, anyone critisicing transformers. May the wrath of Megatron strike you to oblivion!!! Muah ha ha ha

briliant execution firstfold. the round table looks like a "Songkok". this is a traditional headware for men in Malaysia and is commonly used during festive seasons. If you do a search on google you`ll see how it will look like. its usually black or dark blue in colour!

The container is made from one sheet of 8.5 inch by 11 inch uncut, unglued transparency film.
The sparkles are 2.5 inch squares of foil (each)

Japanese Gundam Robot (See his guns?- cockpit becomes helmet)




Folded from 40cm square tissue foil. No cutting. The transformation gets executed by shifting the parts like a normal transformer. Note the colour may have weared out. This is an old model taken out from the box designed in 2001.

That´s cute, looks like a dragon that transforms into an elf to me.

actually there was a japanese model toy like this years........ ago like in the 80's, but i was not sure the name of the robot the original colours on the robot, was brown and a lime green as you see. so if u like, call it an elf robot.


plz if anyone can tell me the actuall name of the gundam i`ll appreciate that!

It's an origami - wind powered - annimation machine.
Strap on any six origami models (or simply use pictures) then blow hard! OK, use a fan or a shop vac and be practical.




Actually this paddle wheel is for a different model I am creating for this challenge - you may see this application in a little while. It is also quite an unusual transformation!
