Type of paper to use in origami board game?

Hi! I was hoping somebody here could help me!
I am making a board game where the components are made of origami. Here is the origami model: http://pocketpalsson.com/uploads/uploads/fold.png

The problem is that I need the structure to stay put and the paper can't be too thick (so it can fold neatly together when flat)
Does anybody know what kind of paper (or possible other materials) or technique I could use?

I'd recommend strong paper like elephant hide. It might be a bit thicker than your usual Origami paper, but for the action it surely helps to have a stiffer paper like that.

Thank you for your quick replay. I wanted to ask more about this elephant hide since I haven't heard of it before. Do you think it could last, since it is going to be used in a board game and there for fiddled with a lot?

Elephant Hide is amongst the most robust papers out there. So if there is a paper that is suitable for a game where it will be used a lot, then it is Elephant Hide. Don't know whether you can get it locally where you live, but there are several places on the Internet where you can order it, like for example http://origami-shop.com
