Hi there,

This is my first post but I have found this forum so useful as a lurker.

I'm planning on getting Jun Maekawa root2 books and was wondering if anyone has a suggestion for good quality A sized paper. At the moment I only have copied paper of this size. Is it worth getting a roll and cutting it myself?

Many thanks in advance.

Stinks

I recommend double tissue, mulberry or unryu paper with MC.

Thank you very much for the advice Damian. I don't have any experience of using MC. Do you apply it before or after folding?

PS. The models on your photofeed are awe-inspiring!!

If it's a single sheet of tissue, the MC is painted on before to make it fold easier and hold it's shape better. If it's double tissue, the MC is used to glue 2 sheets together. You can also use it afterwards or during the shaping if the model looks like it could use it (insect antenna/legs for example).
Careful if you use it afterwards, especially on tissue. It will soak up pretty quick and cause warping/wrinkling if you aren't prepared.

There's a pretty big thread on MC in the paper section that has some helpful info too =)
