Elmers' Art Paste?

I asked the art store nearest to me if they had methyl cellulose in stock, and they answered no. That store was 30 minutes away, and I'm not ready to go looking any further quite yet.
What they did have was Elmers Art Paste. They told me the first ingredient was MC, but I wasn't sure, so I haven't bought it yet.
Does anybody else have experience with Elmers Art Paste? Does it work? Thanks
