So this fold has been on my "to fold" list for a while. The problem is I can't seem to find a suitable paper for the fold. From the images, it seems to be a gold foil-backed dark sheet of paper. In Tanteidan Magazine 123, it also says that the model was folded from a 90cm x 90cm sheet. On Origami Shop the closest I could find to this was a 100cmx76cm Washi which aside from being too small, also has an undesirable texture.

Has anybody folded this before or found a suitable paper for this model?

Without knowing too much about the model, that reminds me of Shadowfold paper (which you can buy at https://www.origami-shop.com/en/iridesc ... -2895.html ). I don't think it comes in that large of a size, however, so it might just be homemade tissue foil..
It's also possible that he glued several sheets of Shadowfold to some gold foil.

Hmmm...
Perhaps I can use this. I doubt I can find the same size paper as the original.
