Montroll Camel (Teach Yourself Origami)

Post by sandy5280 »

I have been stuck on steps 38 and 39 for weeks (also, am I using the paper backwards?)

Ah, yes. Montroll's signature "open the head" command. One of my favourite origami artists ever--but this step had me quizzed too.

I apologize for the bad quality photos. Note the MANY layers in this fold. Be sure to make sure no white layers are showing. I drew a few pictures too just to clarify the blurry camera pictures. They only show opening the head. All that is left from these photos on is to flatten the head down further.

If these don't quite help I can try to make it systematic.

Thank you! I don't think I ever would have figured it out from his diagram. Your explanation was perfectly clear.

Also, is the shiny side of the tissue-foil paper considered the front or the back?

You are welcome.

About the shiny side, I think it is personal preference. But some people tend to grit their teeth at the shiny side up for some reason. Or at least from what I have heard, that is.
