Re: New Satoshi Kamiya models
yes, i was talking about artur berniaki's flickr stream.....and when did it become so cool to be so condescending to people. my "high standards"?? i was just curious as to what model(s) would be diagrammed this year. does that really require such sarcasm? ive noticed a trend lately where people feel it necessary to make fun of asking simple questions. isnt that the point of this forum? to gain knowledge from like minded origami enthusiasts? not to be belittled or criticized for asking for help or showing enthusiasm for simple concepts. it is discouraging and damaging to the art form and all its artists in the long run. if someone asks for help on a model and is mocked why would they finish the model, or even bother returning to the forum. all im saying is let us all treat each other with respect. give it and it will be given in return.
Re: New Satoshi Kamiya models
There is one thing which seems really condescending to me : asking for help giving a bad information on what you are looking for, making persons willing to help wasting their time, when knowing this, no "sorry here is the link" but "oh yes it is Artur Bienacki" (mixmastermarc16 wrote:yes, i was talking about artur berniaki's flickr stream.

Sorry for my bad english but your behaviour seems to me very condescending.

Hey, man, you only joined a month ago. You haven't been here long enough to be noticing any trendsmixmastermarc16 wrote:my "high standards"?? i was just curious as to what model(s) would be diagrammed this year. does that really require such sarcasm? ive noticed a trend lately where people feel it necessary to make fun of asking simple questions.

Also, this place is much more civil than most of the rest of the internet. So quit yer complaining

In response to your question... while none of us really knows what Kamiya will diagram this year, I think it's a safe guess that he's working on another book-- there have been too many models that have been diagrammed, and shown at conventions, but not published. One of the most common criticisms of his first book was that most of the diagrams had already been published elsewhere, and I suspect he's responding to that.
Most diagrammers don't publish things right away; for example, I'm probably sitting on 50-70 pages of unreleased material at the moment. Most of those are tied up in commissions or book projects, but some I just haven't found the right place to put them, yet.

I've been here more than a month, and I notice a trend that two people tend to be rude
guess which two ?
But most people try to be helpful, and folks are rarely condescending about Origami, although there may be some snarky remarks about Forum rules and netiquette....

i resemble that remark.HankSimon wrote:I've been here more than a month, and I notice a trend that two people tend to be rude![]()
i think it's a safe bet to say that his next book will also be mostly comprised of previously published diagrams, with maybe 2 or more new ones. One of the most common criticisms of his first book was that most of the diagrams had already been published elsewhere, and I suspect he's responding to that.
