can anyone help me with this dragon? so far ive only found CPs, and it would be nice if anyone can help how to collapse the CP

It's actually a very straightforward CP by the looks of it, though I imagine the asymmetric factor of it would tend to throw you off. As far as I can tell, it's just basic box-pleating. The grid looks to be 32nds at first glance, but I'm too lazy to measure right now, so I may be off by a few units.

Kind of off-topic, but seeing this CP just cements my opinion that Brian Chan is a total bad-a.

There is only a CP for this model. If you still need help, with what part? I may be able to upload some collapse photos if that would be helpful.

Also, I'm having trouble with the head, and two of the legs. For the legs, if you look at the dragon from the top (birds eye) and have the head facing up, it would be the left front leg, and the right hind leg. I dont know how to form the fingers. Also, how big does the paper have to be? Mine is about 14 cm by 14 cm, printer paper. For me, its wayyy to thick in the middle. The dragon's head looks like a mushed up ball with 5 spikes sticking out

The legs are actually all the same folds. The two you are having trouble with are mirrored versions of the other two. Same folds, just twice as many. Fingers for the top left and bottom right corner are as-is. Fingers for the other legs require some manipulation. They are the same as the ancient dragon, so even if you haven't folded it, I'm sure someone has posted how to do it in one of its many threads. As far as the head goes, it is just a bunch of flaps. It's a little tricky to find a good distribution of flaps to get what you want. I took two flaps for the mouth, one to make eyes, and the rest became horns. I'll upload a picture of my fold once I get it off my camera.

It Is 32! I used Inkscape and then enabled the grid and made the cp lie exactly on top of the grid and counted it. it is 32. i'm sure of it.

You can't use printer paper!!! use 30 or 25 cm tissue foil! it's best for this model! because of its curves printer paper won't be able to hold it into that shape! and if you need any help with collapsing, just ask me, okay?

Can anyone please help me on how to collapse the head the right way? I can't seem to get it right....

Currently I have no time to fold this but for people who really like how the model looks but can't fold it I recommend Kamiya's Ryu Jin 1.2 (you probably have seen it before though). It looks similar to the result posted on that thread and the CP is easier (IMO).

I had a chance to ask Brian at the OrigaMITconvention. I didn't get much useful advice, but it still inspired me to try this model. Like many others, I'm stuck on the head, and it's tearing around the toes that are in the center.

The body is easier, but the head is much harder. Might give it a try, though. I kinda figured the head of the Water Dragon, but I'm not sure if it's right....

there are diagrams for this model. they are hand drawn and in a recent convention booklet. if only i could remember which book.........
