If you fold the dinosaur perfectly then the front, the back, and the two plates at the top will each be isosceles right triangles having each exactly the same size. Is there a trick to do this just like there's a trick to fold a sheet into thirds?

I'm asking cause this could really be a helpful step in order to fold my Eight sided box.

The instructions say to rotate your square 22.5 degrees before folding in half.
You could get your fold at the correct angle by folding a diagonal crease from one corner to another, and a horizontal crease across the middle, and then folding the crease that bisects the angle made by the first two creases.

I see! Kinda like how Sara Adams' explains how to cut an octagon from a square. Thanks spiritofcat!

I hope there are other tricks to fold the stegosaurus. Can someone else think of a different one?

You can mark horizontal half-crease on both edges. than mark half of the upper half on one side (on the left) and half of the bottom half on the other side (on the right). Than make crease between last two marks.

Thanks Ondrej.Cibulka! I think I understood your solution. If so, I tried and I think it doesn't make isosceles right triangles. Are you sure it should?

No, I am not sure. I sow it somewhere but did not try it and did not think about it.
