Hi everyone,

Well I thought I'd give folding from CP's another try. Read the faqs and some other things out there, all good. Thought I'd get some advice here before I start.

I was thinking of two different models, both ones I like so it'll keep me motivated.

Before I jump in, some thoughts on these. Do they look ridiculously difficult? The raven is on a 16 x 16 grid, does it look to you that Cat is on a 12 x 12 grid? Any suggestions or obvious things that I should look at and pay attention to? Anyhow your advice and help are welcome...

Heh, just realized I didn't read the how to ask for help FAQ. Think this is pretty clear, but if it turns into a complete disaster, I'll just break into two.

The cat looks pretty straight forward and I think that you should start with this model. I haven't folded it myself but the structure is easily recognizable, therefore I think it shouldn't make any problems. You are right assuming it is on a 12x12 grid.
The raven is a bit trickier since it uses many curved shaping to create the 3D-effect of the final model. The CP also isn't that obvious, you might still succeed though. The best way to find out is to try. Even if you shouldn't be able to get a satisfying result, you will learn a lot in the process.

If you want keep motivated, fold the one you like the most regardless if its more complex. When you like a subject in particular it will boost a bit to see the model neatly finished and you will learn a lot in the process.

Thanks for the thoughts! Poked away at both over the past week. Not really successful, but did I ever learn a ton. Think I'll put them away for a bit and come back to them.
