Dromedary (Origami & Math- Montroll) Step 9

This is really a general question about how to get a nice, smooth, long crease. Also how to fold very small bisecting angles. When I try to do step 9, my crease comes out kind of "rippled". Then the whole model goes downhill from there. I am using approx. 10" Kami paper. Thank you.

That is a good question - I hope I have a useful answer! For long creases or other difficult to manipulate folds, I pinch the ends of the fold first, leaving the bulk of the middle in a rolled (but not folded) formation. If it is a long fold, I might add additional pinches along the center, as the paper gets pressed flatter. When I am ready to commit, I will completely flatten the remaining sections, allowing the pinched endpoints to guide the paper straight. Good luck! - Marc
