i would highly suggest precreasing the scales. having folded this model twice, first time unsuccessfully, and the second time successfully, my first fold i did NOT precrease the scales and it made it extremely difficult to collapse cleanly, leading to my failure. the second fold i completely precreased all scales, and it made a very difficult collapse slightly easier. warning. this model is fairly challenging. good luck.

the scales are 1/3 of the unit, NOT 1/4. i made the same mistake my first time. i simply assumed the would be 1/4th. not so.
