Peacock (from two isosceles right triangles) by Kasahara

I'm trying to make the peacock folded from two isosceles right triangles, created by Kasahara, which is #23 in his book Creative Origami. It's one of the last models of the first chapter. As a challenge, he only shows four steps and the resulting model.
This is what I made.
In the book the tail looks smaller, it isn't directed frontward, and the hole where the tail is inserted looks broader. I have no idea how to accomplish that. Besides that, I'm not sure how the legs are supposed to be folded. Can you please help me?
Thank you in advance.
