Help with Chris Palmer Flower Tower

I have the CP and the explanation about folding the FT for 5, 6 and 7 sides but I haven't been able to do much with any of them. Also the CP for the 5 sided FT on Tanteidan 8 is different from the one shown
here Why is it so?

I have the same doubts as Brimstone.
There also seems to be two versions of the Flower Towers, one flat and one three-dimensional. Are they the same, one being pressed flat and the other not?

i noticed too that the 5petal flower tower in tanteidan convention8 is different from the one give in the website.
