Post by matias.mendez »

Hello everybody,

I'm trying to fold dragon head by Kawahata Fumiaki (Origami Tanteidan Magazine 59) but I have a problem in step 44, it's not clear how to do it, could anybody explain this step, please?. I'd thank you so much your help.

Best regards,
Matias

Hi,

I could do step 42, I got something like bird base. My doubt is how to unfold (step 43) and get step 44. Excuse me if I was not clear before.

Regards,
Matias

trying to fold dragon head

Post by gshemar »

Hi, I too am trying to fold the dragon head but am stuck on steps 33-35. My model looks exactly like step 33 but I have no idea what the diagrams are trying to show in steps 33-35. If anyone could help please, that would be great. Thanks in advance!

Okay, I'll go in step-order here.

#33)
If you take a look at where the arrow originates, there will be a pocket. Inside that pocket is a flap which is tucked up into the top of the pyramid, and is squashed. The step indicates that you pull out that triangular flap. Then, you squash it in step 34.

#43) If you look under that top flap, you will have a point there, and then two flaps side-by side. You pull out that point, and a long triangular flap of paper will come out. Then 44 I assume just says something about the orientation of the paper.

Hope this helped!

what a size would you recommend for the paper, if someone wants to give this model a first try?

... i've tried a stripe cut from a3 and do think it to small for comfortable folding. this one came out with kraft paper:
