It's actually just a simple preliminary fold, but the additional flaps make it confusing. So, just bring the corners together and form a square base, without worrying too much about the other stuff there is.
Ps. Take the "." out of the link, it doesn't work

Hi there,
i try/tried to do that
unhappily i got stuck at step 13, which tells me to untuck the flaps, does it mean to CUT them? i cant imagine how to do it else.
if i just go on and ignore it, turn it round and do the next petal fold, my model is inverted, which means the flap i'm up to pull out is on the right side and not on the left where it should be^^ now i'm pretty...confused about it.
what should i do about step 13? and is it okay that my model is inverted to the image?
fast help is appreciated of course (;
thanks for all your answers
greetings gulli

No, you don't have to cut the paper, you have to pull it out from the inside. It's a little bit hard to describe, just try to bring your fingers under the dark layer of paper and carefully try to release some more paper that's attached to it.

Step 8 is a squash fold. Slide your finger from below into the top right flap and press the paper flat.
