I am stuck on step 18 "Open-sink in and out." I tried sinking it, but it turns out pretty messy. I actually tried going through all of the steps even if I was doing it wrong. For step 24 "Reverse-fold the corner in and out on the existing creases" is this step folding the flap like you do in a lily? From then on, I got pretty lost. Thank you for reading my request. I understand if you do not have time to help me.

Has anyone found out how to fold this? Can someone help me?

please help me out of step 18, according to the diagram, it said that open sink in and out, that's what i did, but the paper couldn't lie flat,
please please help me
it will be a awesome if you can post the image of step 18, this makes me easier to undertand

^ I too am still stuck with step 18... Been months.

Here a hopefully helpful picture-guide for step 18:

18.1 Open the sink area by holding the model as shown and pulling the yellow-dotted flap to the right.


18.2 Form the creases as shown (mountain-yellow, valley-blue). All of them are existing creases, you only need to correct the direction.


18.3 Like this, continue flattening the model...


18.4 I always run into a problem collapsing the circled area. I'm not sure if it's due to paper thickness (Note: Lang uses approximately 0.0001g paper) or because of my inexact folding. It doesn't really matter though. Just flatten this part somehow, it won't affect the final model.


18.5 Finished. For practice repeat on 3 more flaps

thanks a lot for your instructions, but i still concern about the open sink,
although Mr Lang uses approximately 0.0001g paper but the thickness of paper won't effect this simple open sink,
is this maybe the weak point of this model or there is another way to accomplish this fold?

I would like to say that when I tried out this model, I also ran into the same problem with the layers crumpling a little at the sink. (So it is not just you guys)

do any of you know the paper that Mr Lang often uses, it's name is marble wilson as i remember, so what is actually that kind of paper? where can i buy it?

you probably talk about the WYNDSTONE"marble" paper no?
if so it's an heavy paper frequently used for an wet-folding techn.

where buy it?i dont know but if i'm right the paper know as "ELEPHANT PAPER"(in france) look pretty much the same
and so on in france this paper it's not so difficult to find in art store
