Hello!
I'm a Newbie :D and I love Origami.
First, sorry for my English, because I'm a pupil, 16 years old, from Germany. There are no good sites in German, but this site in English is very good. That's why I'm scribing here.
My problem is how to fold that "Medusa aurelia"
Look here: http://design.origami.free.fr/Sirgo/diagrams.htm

I have problems at step eight, I mean from step eight to nine.
I don't know how to use the thick arrow and the black thin arrow.
I don't accomplish how it looks in step nine.

Can anybody help?
I'm despairing.

I hope you will write soon

Greetings
Sandy

Hallo und herzlich Willkommen!

Hello and welcome on board!

Image

In step eight you have to free the first layer. It´s the one you folded to the middle in the first step. Be careful that the paper doesn´t rip while pulling it gently apart. It´s a little bit like an outside reverse fold.

Hope that helps.

PS: There are good german sites too, but no Forum. The only Forum-like thing I know is the german Yahoo-Group "Papierfalten" (http://de.groups.yahoo.com/group/papierfalten/) but I leave it for your own choice if you find it good or not.
Two nice german sites are for example:

:(

perhaps you and the others can help me with more explains...

hey Anna,
thanks, I understand! :D
But a few of the other steps are also not so easy. But I try again and again. The problem is also to fold correctly and not blowzy.
When I need help again, I announce myself.
:D

One question. Isn't it labored to explain things like that with a video. I find it very cool, but I think you must also spend time. :-)

Everytime you´re explaining something you have to spend time. I could also have tried to explain it once again with text instructions or foto instructions, but it´s the question how many time it would have used until you would have understand what I mean. Foto Instructions doesn´t take that less time for me because I had to make a lot of fotos to explain and maybe draw in arrows and dashed lines. Therefore I had to compress the Fotos first, then using a paint-program,... With a video I only have the affort of making it and compressing it.

As soon as you know how to make it it is really easy.

(Thank you Christian!)

PS: Maybe I should begin to count the postings you are laughing at me

Hi everyone! I'm stuck at step eight, too. Unfortunately, I can't access that video you linked. </3

Oh wow. I didn't realize I was so rude in my first post. Sorry. ><

But I do need help. Please?

@mizanete: Why do you think you've been rude? If it is because your first post "vanished" after you sent it, it is because the first three posts of every user need to be approved by a moderator. All the moderators on this Forum are volunteers that visit this Forum in their free time, so it can take a day or two until a post gets approved, but we usually try to do it as soon as possible.

Edit:
Here is a video that shows that same step on a different model:

Hi,

Just want to say a big thank you for the tutorial on the reverse fold - I have been stuck on that for quite a long time! :)
