I'm stuck at step 15 here. Which layer is going where?

wrap the flap from behind and bring it to the front so it is no longer white.

The edge of the paper is on the inside spine of that flap-- you want to pull it around to the front of the flap. This is much easier if you open up the flap a bit.

Hmm, I must've done something wrong in an earlier step or something, because I can't bring it to the front without tearing it. I found the edge (I think), but it's wrapped around the rest of the flap, so if I try to bring it forward, I end up tearing. I'm pretty sure I've done all the previous steps correct, though. I'll take some pictures of the one I'm working and upload them if it helps.

it should be just like half a bird base, try it on a bird base first, this move is sometimes called unsink in some older books, if you unfold lightly and do an outside reverse fold on the raw edge side of the half bird base while collapsing you could avoid the stress on the layers, also you can try to sink the peice of flap after folding it upwards along the middle folding line to get the same result.
It´s really a simple manouvre and I´m sure you´ll just smack yourself in the head when you accomplish it.

Yeah, I got it now. Thanks a lot! The maneuver didn't feel as easy as described, but I'm sure I'll figure out to do it with less pressure on the flap.
