Dear all,

A few years ago, I vividly recall perusing an origami book which I quite liked, but now can't seem to remember the name/author of. I believe that it was light blue and had an origami elephant on the cover - does anybody know the name/author/publication details? Thanks...

Can you please tell us a little bit about the content. It's hard to find a book just by a vague description of the cover.

I would, but I honestly don't remember anything else. If I'm correct, it contained a large number of models (ie, more than 30), but that's about all I have. I did try looking for it on amazon, but to no avail

Are you sure it was an Elephant? From all the light blue Origami books I own this one is the only one with an Elephant on the cover.
Could it maybe have been a Rhinoceros? If so the book "Safari Origami" by Lionel Albertino could be a possibility.

Do you remember if the models have mainly been animals or if they have been mixed, if they've been from one sheet only or several. Any details you can give us can help us getting better results.

Edit: Found another one but it might be hard to get it since it is out of print for a long time now: Origami 4 by Robert Harbin.

I'm not positive... there also may have been a penguin involved on the cover

what I do remember is that it was a solid light blue background with some origami figures on the front. The models inside were, if I remember, more than just animals (although I *could* be wrong about this - but I recall trying to fold something that wasn't an animal out of it).

Are you trying to find books out of your personal collection, or are you searching online as well? If you are looking online, you could tell me what website(s) you're looking on.

If you can't find the book, its no big deal, this post was just intended for someone who happened to know of such a book offhand

EDIT: I would guess that it was published in the 1990's based on what I can remember of the format of the cover - it looked somewhat like http://www.diamond-jim.com/magicbooks/P ... sytodo.jpg in that it was light blue and had line figures on the cover (except, obviously, it had nothing to do with magic tricks and everything to do with origami)

I've done both, searching in my personal library and online.
A good place to search online is the Origami Database at http://origamidatabase.com.

Sounds like a John Montroll book. Origami for the Enthusiast, Animal Origami for the Enthusiast, etc. Also, there may have been a Robert Harbin book with a George Rhoads Elephant on the front. That description really isn't much to go off of, sorry.
