Any Origamist from Atlanta Georgia?

Post by dws1992 »

I am not quite a newbie to origami but close to it. I have a few folds I enjoy doing from memory. ...David

I used to go to the Atlanta Regional Folders (ARF :)) meeting till around May-ish last year, but I have since moved, so... I don't know the current status of them now... They most likely are still meeting, but if you have any general questions, I'll be glad to help.

The ARF Yahoo group mentions they've disbanded for now at least.

I went to an ARF meeting in early 2006, and at that point, pretty much nobody was there. I arrived during the portion of the day when the old folks (the meetings were held in a nursing home, go figure) were doing origami. I waited around for other people, but nobody ever really showed up...I'd love to get these meetings going again...and I'm glad to see other people are actually in Atlanta...out of curiosity, if anyone sees this, do any of you folks go to the Art Institute of Atlanta?

Hey! I'm from Acworth, GA. I've been folding for about six years now. I'm by no means a master or even a professional, but I'm not a newbie by any means.

Atlanta area

Post by DeeBee »

I'm in Macon, 90 miles south of Atlanta. Been doing origami for awhile. Not much original but can do most diagrams. Still not a crease pattern folder.

Anybody in Macon area? I'd even go to Atlanta for a group that has some experienced folders. Would be glad to share with any level folder in my area.

For those who didn't know, both Robert Lang and I grew up in GA. I'll be in ATL this weekend if anyone wants to arrange a little get together...?

I would love that! What is your availability going to look like? I know of at least one other guy in the area who would be up for it.

Sometime in the afternoon, Friday through Monday works for me. I'll be in Decatur, so maybe near Emory? Send me an email, and we can talk.
