it'a a part of the "costume" of the violonist,a sort of a shoulder pad like for the right arm...
but not exactly on the shoulder, behind the right arm in fact
the first time i fold this model i have the same question in mind, and in the final shaping i've let this flap where it is,it's look ok

I just finished this model and posted pics here:
viewtopic.php?p=9770#9770
And there are some pics on Hojyo Takashi's site.

Btw, does anybody know what kind of paper Hojyo uses for his models?
So long and keep folding ^_^

i let some pictures of one of the violonist i make, this one is folded in a 40cm square of tissue-foil-tissue paper...
but the best result i've obtained is with mulberry paper treated with Methyl-Cellulose,and no pictures because i give it to a friend for his birthday,he enjoy the gift

Why do the coolest cp's and diagrams always have to be in weird japanese magazines and tiny booklets that are almost impossible to obtain? :(

I'm all for copyright, but if all those diagrams and cp's were to suddenly make their way onto the internet I'd probably be the happiest boy in the world ;) (I'm not encouraging anyone to actually put them on the internet, please don't)

talking about the internet, wouldn't it be awesome if there was some kind of online system that allowed you to pay for single diagrams and get them sent to you by email or something?
There'd be lots of people distributing them illegaly ofcourse, which would suck. Damn dishonest people ruining my perfect origami world :(

Why not for real? It's a wonderful stress reliever.

I don't mean to break the rules but I don't want to make another topic so here it goes:

Can someone help me with steps 53-62? The violinist looks so good!

I quote someone from another topic and delete the other one (we don´t need to topics to the same subject):
thn wrote:Hi, I'm tryong to fold the violonist of Hojyo but I have some problems with the step 58. I dont really understand if it's just a simple open sink (bigger than those before) or a particular open sink ?

I hope you could help me !
It´s an open sink in and out.

By the way it´s called violinist and not violonist

In those steps you have to change the "direction" of some of the pleats.
The easiest is to look at step 68 and make sure that all the creases run in the right direction. After pushing up and down some of the pleats everything should fall into place almost automatically.
I know that's a bit vague but it's not really easy to describe
So long and keep folding ^_^
