Hello!
I was hoping for a little advice,
Im currently doing a graphic design project called where I use an origami model, unfold it and then illustrate on top. (it's a bit deeper than this but I can explain more later!)
Basically, I'm getting my unfolded models and then tracing the crease pattern in Illustrator. But this proves to be a little inaccurate. Possibly because of paper thickness / slight mistake in my folds making everything shift a little.
I've attempted to use treemaker and other crease pattern programs but I cant figure out how to copy a crease pattern that i've unfolded infront of me. I suppose I cant figure out the division number so I can create an accurate grid to draw on top of.
Im not sure where to start, or understand how to get the division number to create the correct grid.
It would be great for any help! A push in the right direction!
Cheers x

The only thing I can think of is trigonometry. You would have to find what kind of angles you are using, since not all creases would align to a grid.
