has anyone done the hieu larval wyrm using the diagrams from 50h origami yet?
it seems to me that the divisions to form the initial grid might be off. i can proceed from step 36, but the proportions seem "off" and i would have to "force" the underlying paper a bit.

the same happened to me with Kamiya's spinosaurus in tanteidan 17, but i think i just creased it off by a little bit. what grid does it use? you might be able to just crease the grid beforehand

No, bethnor is right. This happened to me too, twice (the first time, I thought I made something wrong). The proportions are a little different, but it can be seen also in step 29, with the size of the white square compared to the whole diagram.phillipcurl wrote:the same happened to me with Kamiya's spinosaurus in tanteidan 17, but i think i just creased it off by a little bit. what grid does it use? you might be able to just crease the grid beforehand

Re: tran trung hieu larval wyrm
Sorry to dig up an old topic, but I also noticed this mistake. I think I have found it's source: the folds in step 25 (later used in step 35, thus producing the discrepancy) are NOT at 1/4 of the little squares. If you look closely, the references for the little folds are the angle bisectors running at 22,5 degrees made in step 24. These DO NOT land at 1/4 of the square's diagonal, but at sqrt 2 / 2x(sqrt 2 + 1).
In step 35, the folds used are those created in steps 24 and 25, and the structure created doesn't align correctly with the rest of the layers.
This said, I don't think it is a diagramming/ design mistake. The layers that do not align properly are hidden inside the model so there's no problem with that, just know that it's not an accuracy mistake.
Hope this makes some sense.
