Excellent eagle, Maxime! What kind of paper did you fold it from?
I found some inexpensive box frames in a store last month and decided to put some models in them to give to relatives as Xmas gifts.

Those look great. How much did you pay for the frames?SenorTortuga wrote:I found some inexpensive box frames in a store last month and decided to put some models in them to give to relatives as Xmas gifts.

Re: What have you folded lately?
The small wooden frames for the Toucan and Blintz Base were $2.99 each. I found them at the Christmas Tree Shop and they came with some pressed flowers in them, which I tore out and replaced with new background paper and then used a small bit of glue to attach the origami models. The larger black frame was like $10 and came from Target - that one had a glass pane whereas the small wooden frames had plastic panes.gab wrote:Those look great. Re: What have you folded lately?
There are diagrams for it in Jeremy Shafer's book Origami to Astonish and Amuse. He was inspired to design it after seeing the M.C. Escher-eque cover of Peter Engel's Folding the Universe (another book I recommend).
It is a fairly tedious model to fold, though, especially the part where you have to make a triangle of paper disappear inside the model using a series of increasingly small swivel folds, and then repeat that 7 more times.
