Takashi Buddha

Hey guys I am new to the forum but have been folding for a long time. I thought I would challenge myself with Takashi's Buddha. Does anyone have any tips or advice on a good paper for this model?

use origamido with mc. that will give the best result
if you cant afford it then i would say tissue foil or any other good paper that takes the shape well

I suggest using tant paper - cheaper than origamido - and, that's the kind of paper that Takashi's using

this model isn't in particular that difficult, but i suggest whatever paper you use, that it is 50 cm square minimum. it is definitely doable with smaller sheets (35 cm), but the hands get ridiculously small. this version was done with 50 cm of paper backed foil from origami-shop.

I have noticed like you said not terribly difficult but the hands, geesh!!! Any tips on folding them or anything that small like say, insect legs? Or is this just one of those origami skills that come with practice?

mir numaan--i'm not even sure you read this question.

duditz72--there are just some people who enjoy folding micro origami. i am not one of them (my fingers being too big and fat, for one). tweezers help, otherwise, and even with a 50 cm square, i still end up using them for this model.

i think if u r not so much used to complex origami then a 60 cm square would be good for shaping the hands i know the hands get ridiculously small!! and as bethnor wrote use tweezers for shaping
