Thank you. Nothing can "stop war" .. There will always be on going war in this world. What stops war? Nothing. Nothing. Nothing at all. A peace dove is a mere symbol, only a symbol: but it means peace. Paz. Pace. Paix. мир. 平和. A dove is a symbol recognized worldwide for peace. The peace dove can bring hope, and hope can bring peace. It may not be able to save a war, but it can save someone. There is your answer, it cannot stop war.

very messy! But since its your own design its great! Keep up the work and keep these insects comming!

it's not very messy, its actually folded cleanly. The paper obviously got too thick for the model.

Phillip -> Yeah, longhorn beetles tend to do that, and the spikes only add to the thickness.

My girfriend suggested I do some artwork to hang up at our place. So I decided to do some some simple stuff based on crease patterns, classic bases and representative models. This is how it turned out, we're quite pleased with it.

Obviously the actual folding of these models was no great effort but that's not really the point of them. I wanted something that demonstrated the underlying structure a bit. What do you think?

Origami Fire Truck
Folded from many rectangles of Paper, Cardstock, and Poster Board – NO GLUE
The steering when turns the wheels left and right.
The Wheels Turn
The Main Ladder Rotates and Extends.
Santee’s Swivel is used for the steering mechanism and for rotating the ladder.
Many new folding techniques were designed for the parts that make up this model.
Each rung of every ladder is a folded rectangle.
This model took many hours of folding and any a considerable amount of design time.

Origamifreak, nice work on the lunar moth, looks very ethereal. It's next on my hit list after the leaf insect, looks fun to fold...unlike that yellow jacket, which looks a bit of a beast, well beyond my meagre talents. Your rendition looks great!
